Melissa Yount, Psy.D

Dr. Melissa Yount is a licensed psychologist in Florida and Utah. As a clinical and forensic psychologist, she has conducted hundreds of evaluations and counseled countless adults as well as children in community mental health settings, college counseling centers, and inpatient settings. She also works with professional athletes. Dr. Yount has been in private practice since 2014 and has over 15 years of clinical experience.

Dr. Yount, who is bilingual in English and Haitian Creole, focuses on counseling modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Behavior Emotive Therapy (REBT) for adults ages 18 and up. She offers psychological evaluations for a wide range of patients, including children as young as two years old and adults.

Her extensive educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in Psychological Studies  from Seton Hall University.  She also holds a Master of Science in General Psychology and Doctor of Psychology from Carlos Albizu University with a concentration in Forensic Psychology.

She completed her predoctoral internship at Greystone Park State Psychiatric Hospital in New Jersey and completed her postdoctoral internship at Florida Civil Commitment Center where she served as the Clinical Team Leader of two mental health units.

As an educator herself Dr. Yount previously served as Honorary Faculty for the University of Liverpool’s Laureate online Forensic and Applied MSc Programs.
